First Friday Denton is a monthly event hosted by active members of www.firstfridaydenton.com, and is an opportunity for local artists and musicians to find venues to host their art and music one night a month. If you visit www.firstfridaydenton.com be sure and register there – to comment, ask questions and get the rss feed so you will see the opportunities as they come along.

Fall First Fridays are the prime time of this event as it leads up to the holiday season. First Friday is a great opportunity to show your stuff, and make contact with people interested in your music and art.

Take The A Train

Denton is now open to a whole new mode of transportation to its arts, music and entertainment venues. The DCTA A Train officially left the station last week, and now getting to Denton is as simple as leaving the driving to the new A Train. Come one, come all! It’s that time again, Denton Arts & Jazz is just around the corner, and about to pop! It’s the final rite of spring, making the turn toward summer all but inevitable. Art Lessons at A Creative Art Studio

A Creative Art STUDIO will be having their Spring Art Show March, 26th, 2011. Come view the new art from 1:00 – 9:00 pm at the studio. The Studio/Gallery now has the works of 40 local artists. Several new artists will be exhibiting in the studio for the first time as well as new works from our existing artists. Paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewelry, and stained and fused glass are just a few of items that are featured in the show. Music begins at 5:30 and is kicked off by the Drew Zaremba and Brian Ward Duo. Both Brian and Drew attend University of North Texas and are Jazz Studies majors. Starting at 7:00 pm Baloney Moon, one of Denton Favorite Groups will perform in the studio. Baloney Moon performs an eclectic assortment of music and has performed on the Square for Music events as well as at Jazzfest.
During the opening artists Crystal Nelson and Kerry Boutell will be demonstrating and there will be a community art piece created by those who wish to participate.
